My name is Rudi Romeri. (Born as Rudi
Spermon) in The Hague, the Netherlands in 1962. |
|
My father was born in Rotterdam and my
mother was born in Blitar, Indonesia.
I started playing the recorder when I was about seven years old
and changed instruments at the age of ten when I started playing
the piano until I was about seventeen years old. |
|
|
I started living on my own at the age of
nineteen and joined several choirs. And during a Christmas service
with the Phoenix choir in the Hague I had the chance of singing
a solo. Thanks to the conductor, Nico Vlasveld, who believed in me
and who is still a great friend, I became interested in a
professional career. And so I had my first singing lesson at the
age of thirty! |
|
|
I had singing lessons on and off. Starting
with Estelle van Aken, Marian van Loon, and after moving to
İstanbul-Turkey my teacher has been Yıldız Dardelen. |
|
|
The first restaurant in which I had a
chance to sing was Asmalı Balıkçısı (Asmali Balikcisi) in
Beyoğlu İstanbul. They have continued to be very supportive. I
was also part of the Tünel festival for several years and I gave a
concert in the Italian Culture Centre. I sang at private parties
in Beyoğlu and Bebek. Also during a fashion show from Vural
Gökçaylı (Gokcayli). |

Lately I have been working with a very
talented Turkish pianist, her name being Yapıncak Gürerk Okyar with
whom I have given several concerts in the Fethi Okyar house on
Büyükada and in the Crimean Church (Kırım kilisesi) in Beyoğlu,
İstanbul. Our program being a mixture of J.S.Bach arias, G.F.Handel,
W.A.Mozart, G.B.Pergolesi, A. Lotti, the famous arias antique etc. |
